Help Support SALT
In 2011, Hurricane Irene caused massive damage in Schoharie Valley and the surrounding areas. Our farm was one of many homes and businesses that were flooded and required an incredible amount of time and manpower to repair. Through the efforts of friends, family, and volunteers we have been able to rebuild what the flooding damaged two years ago. Other families and local businesses haven't been so fortunate, and Schoharie Area Long Term (SALT) is a disaster recovery organization whose ongoing mission is to help those still in need of service. SALT coordinates volunteers, donations, and fund development towards unmet needs of local Schoharie residents. The Pumpkin Patch Mud Run is happy to announce their partnership with SALT. A portion of each registration will be donated to SALT and help their efforts in rebuilding our community. You can learn more about SALT and their programs HERE.
We've been opening the Pick-a-Pumpkin Patch for 27 years this year. Every year we try to include something new and this year we're swinging for the fences. We've carefully constructed a 5k obstacle course that runs across the entire farm. Participants will need to climb steep inclines using ropes, cross multiple pits full of mud, scramble over hay bales (the giant round ones, not the square type), tread through tire piles, and escape a "web" of bungee cords.
A rinsing station is available at the end of the race (please bring your own towel) and a key check will be open so you can leave your belongings locked in your car. After the race, you're free to enjoy the rest of the Pumpkin Patch. Activities include hay rides, a three story tree house, pumpkin cannon, hay tunnels, Frisbee golf, farm animals, snack shop, and more. We promise you and your family will love it. You can find more information at our website HERE.
